This expedition is designed for travelers who want an authentic Pantanal wilderness experience, combining overland camping on the Miranda River with intensive jaguar observation safaris.
Arrival in the Pantanal region and transfer to the Miranda River area, one of the best locations in the South Pantanal for wildlife observation.
After a short briefing with our guide and expedition team, we travel by boat along the Miranda River to reach our overland camping area set in a remote and beautiful section of the river.
After setting up camp and lunch, the first boat safari begins, exploring the riverbanks where jaguars are often seen resting, hunting or crossing the river. During the safari it is also common to observe giant otters, capybaras, caimans and many species of birds.
Return to camp at sunset. Dinner will be prepared by the expedition team.
Night in overland camping tents surrounded by the sounds of the Pantanal wilderness.
Early morning wake-up before sunrise for coffee and preparation for the first morning boat safari, the best time to observe wildlife when animals are most active.
We spend the morning navigating the Miranda River channels, searching for jaguars and other wildlife. The Pantanal is one of the best places in the world for jaguar sightings.
Return to camp for lunch and a short rest during the warmest hours of the day.
In the afternoon we head back to the river for another extended safari, focusing on areas where jaguars have recently been spotted. Along the way we continue observing wildlife such as marsh deer, tapirs, giant otters and many birds including herons, kingfishers and jabiru storks.
Return to camp at sunset. Dinner and overnight in the camping area under the stars of the Pantanal.
